Chief Creative Officer, Martin Cooper ressurects the richly rooted house of Belstaff for a Fall 2012 debut collection. The New Belstaff manages to reimagine the depth of luxury, heritage and culture of the established brand into something that is thoroughly modern and effortlessly timeless. In drawing inspiration from a rich archive (one can only imagine what these pieces are like) and injecting some of his own perspectives, Cooper creates a new standard which not only focuses on luxe notions and aesthetic but also on ergonomics, ease and function. No detail is too small as every inch of any given garment is presented with conscious rhyme and reason. Precise detailing quickens the heartbeat like the rising needle on a speedometer. Witty iterations of mud splatter prints and treaded details drive authenticity home with a nod to motorcycle culture.
