#MDBP  was W E T & W I L D!!! And I’m not just saying that because the party got (torrentially) rained out just before Diplo & Switch took the stage as Major Lazer. It was hot as balls with no shade (pun intended) and I’m sure there wasn’t a dry armpit in Williamsburg Park. Despite the #heatwave, it was pretty buck.

Check these videos for some recap action.

#partytime: Ohne Titel x BOFFO Pop-Up Party

I stopped by the BOFFO space @ 57 Walker St. down in Tribeca yet again last night… this time to fête the unveiling of a concept space collaboratively crafted by wonder duo Ohne Titel and architectural firm, Easton + Combs. The space mirrors everything the OT girls are about… Sleek minimalism with a graphic edge coupled with an air of sculptural elegance. A massive bold red interlocking installation permeated by clear cylindrical rods lines both walls of the space leading to the rear of the gallery. Select pieces from Ohne’s Fall 2011 & Resort 2012 collections were suspended on display from the fixtures.

I enjoyed the art complementing industrial-minima soundscapes created by the lovely Sabisha then boogied on down to some disco/italo house downstairs whilst mixing with the crowd & gettin’ my sip on.  The party closed with a throbbing, intimate live electro set by the boys of The Black Soft.

#parties: AMI by Alexandre Mattiussi @ Barneys New York

(select images courtesy of Neil Rasmus @ BFA)

Last night, I stopped by Barneys New York to celebrate the collection launch of a special menswear designer who makes his debut for FW11. Though this marks the first of his somewhat eponymous collections, Alexandre is by no means a noob having accumulated much experience at Dior Homme, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs. I say somewhat eponymous because the brand’s name is composed of his initials and the last letter of his name.  En français of course, we know this means “friend’.

The first impression I got upon viewing the collection was that everything you could possibly need to put together a smart mens look was present. AMI offers every staple, updated and refined with impeccable tailoring that will no doubt become a house signature. The range covers everything from sleek outerwear to lean underpinnings which can be mixed and matched for an effortless look. French charm fortunately, is included. Courtesy Mr. Mattiussi of course.

My favorite pieces that I’ll be headed back to Barneys to check out include this sherpa collared zip up in a fun micro-herringbone print, the classic camel coat, this denim jacket with a neat shirt-style collar. And last but definitely not least, these killer crepe soled wrap ankle boots.
